THe Brief
Designing a playful, functional family app
Fingertapps Organiser is a family-focused desktop app that turns everyday tasks into a fun, creative experience. Working closely with the Creative Director, I was responsible for the UI design and illustrations that made the app feel both functional and engaging for all ages. The design balanced simplicity with vibrant, playful visuals to create a tool that was easy for everyone to use, helping families manage notes, reminders, and tasks together. The outcome was a seamless blend of organisation and creativity.
Home Hub
The family dashboard
The home screen offers a playful, fridge door-inspired dashboard where family members can view notes, events, and lists. Using a sky-themed backdrop with items pegged to a clothesline, we integrated ambient animations to make the experience both engaging and functional.
Calendar
Flexible calendar views
The sky-themed calendar adapts to monthly, weekly, and daily views. Each view expands to reveal more details, helping families easily track their schedules in an intuitive format.

Interactive event details
Scheduling appointments comes with all the essential details, plus an optional voice note feature for added personalisation.
Video Notes
Leave a video message
Users can leave video notes on the noticeboard, tagging other family members to ensure important messages are seen.

Creative Notes
Creative Card Design
With customizable card shapes, brushes, and colours, the note creation tool allowed users to design personalised notes, attaching voice memos for a fun, engaging experience.

Shared lists for the family
The list feature helped families plan activities, such as packing for a camping trip, by sharing checklists with assigned tasks for each family member.
Final thoughts
Bringing fun and functionality together
This project was a fun opportunity to design an intuitive interface that was not only useful but also enjoyable for families to use together. While the project was completed some time ago, the lessons in balancing functionality with visual appeal continue to influence my work today.
Organiser was one of a few projects I worked on with creative director Karyn Brice as part of the FingerTapps suite of kids learning apps including a colouring app, learning to count app and a jigsaw app.
